Impartiality Policy

Impartiality Policy

Hamilton Certification is committed to maintaining impartiality in all its certification activities. Impartiality is essential to maintaining confidence in the certification process and ensuring that our certification decisions are credible and trustworthy.

Key Principles

  • Hamilton Certification identifies, analyses, and documents all risks to impartiality on an ongoing basis
  • Certification decisions are made solely on the basis of objective evidence gathered during the audit process
  • Hamilton Certification does not allow commercial, financial, or other interests to compromise its impartiality
  • All personnel involved in certification activities are required to declare any conflicts of interest
  • Hamilton Certification does not offer or provide consultancy services to clients seeking certification
  • Hamilton Certification does not certify a management system that was designed or implemented by its own auditors

Management of Impartiality Risks

Hamilton Certification conducts regular reviews of potential threats to impartiality, including relationships arising from ownership, governance, management, personnel, shared resources, finances, contracts, marketing, and payment of sales commissions. When a threat to impartiality is identified, it is eliminated or minimised to an acceptable level.

Interested Parties

Hamilton Certification has an impartiality committee that includes representatives from interested parties. This committee ensures that commercial and other pressures do not compromise the impartiality of our certification activities.
